The Ghana Tourist Board and the Tourists Clubs Association of the Western Region have undertaken a tree planting exercise at the Sekondi Sports Stadium to mark the celebration of World Tourism Day. This year’s celebration was on the theme: “Tourism-Responding to the challenges of climates changes.”The Sekondi Sports Stadium is one of two newly constructed international standard stadia built by the Ghana government for the hosting of the MTN CAN 2008 football tournament which took place in January this year.

Malawi: Cotton production gets a boost

Cotton farmers in Malawi are waiting for the commencement of production by a Chinese company to earn more on their commodity. Integrated Cotton and Textile Manufacturers, A chinese company, has already started ground work aimed at improving proceeds farmers earn on cotton products in Balaka.Industry and Trade Minister, Henry Mussa, said the company was one of those that recently visited the country to explore investment opportunities, in line with government’s goal to improve the number of industries.
